In late February this year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unveiled a new geopolitical idea to form a new regional bloc to collectively stand against what he called “radical” adversaries. The proposed “Hexagon of Alliances” — six alliances with various permutations but with Israel at their center – would include India, Greece and Cyprus, along with other unnamed Arab, African and Asian states.

Netanyahu has outlined a new ambitious geopolitical vision called the “Hexagon of Alliances” of like‑minded countries to stand against “radical adversaries". This concept expands the idea of grouping nations into a broader strategic multilateral structure beyond bilateral ties.

The 'Hexagon of Alliances' has been described as a six-sided alliance structure that is being formed as a counterweight to the “radical axes”. According to Netanyahu, this Hexagon would be directed at “the radical Shiite axis” and “the emerging radical Sunni axis.” While he hasn't clarified further on the architecture of this proposed bloc, many see it as Netanyahu's way of counterbalancing the influence of 'The Axis of Resistance' — an Iran-led coalition of state and non-state actors in the Middle East, including Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis and Iraqi militias.
