On March 01, several Pakistani television channels, websites and mobile applications came under coordinated cyberattacks. The main attack happened at the state-owned satellite of the country, Pak-Sat, as a result of which several TV channels suffered transmission issues. The affected platforms were restored after immediate technical intervention.
PakSat, operated under SUPARCO (the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission), is Pakistan's communication satellite.
It transmits Pakistani television channels across the country and abroad. In addition to providing communication services to both public and private institutions, it delivers internet and data connectivity to remote and underserved areas. At times, it also supports defense and strategic communications.
